When your company supplies machines all around the globe, it’s important to find a supplier of mechatronic products that works in a variety of markets and fulfills a variety of applications.  From the simplest to the harshest application, getting worldwide support can be difficult.  Be sure to consider these three things when seeking a global mechatronics partner.

1. Global production support

Find out important details by asking the tough questions, such as are the gearboxes, motors, and drives built in a single location or in multiple locations?  Where are those locations?  Can the supplier build on several continents?  During the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies were unable to deliver products and services, as their only production facility was shut down.  It’s a good idea to have suppliers with facilities in several locations to protect your business in case another similar situation occurs.

2. Flexibility to meet market demand

Do you have different machine designs to meet market-specified controller or drive requirements?  Find a supplier whose gearboxes and motors can work with a variety of controller or drive manufacturers and with any motor to help alleviate any supply chain issues.  The more compatability, the better!

3. Local market support

Finally, is support available in your local markets? Especially when multiple languages are involved, getting help with installation, troubleshooting after start-up, or reprogramming can be tough.  Having access to someone who can help you is vital to ensure smooth production.
