STOBER will be hosting its very first Pathway to Success open house on October 10th from 6-8:30 PM. Local business leaders, community members, high school students, parents and guardians are all invited to attend. Attendees will learn about career opportunities and talent development programs, tour our newly renovated facilities, and participate in breakout sessions for departments that they are interested in learning more about. Breakout sessions will include Inside Sales, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Applied Engineering, and Production. Many prizes will be raffled off throughout the night, with all high school students being entered for a chance to win a $250 scholarship! A free meal will also be provided.
The goal of this event is to provide a look inside STOBER and to showcase our developmental programs to the community, including our pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. STOBER is truly committed to expanding apprenticeship opportunities in America. An apprenticeship is an arrangement in which you get hands-on training, technical instruction, and a paycheck—all at the same time.
According to Peter Feil, STOBER’s VP/General Manager, apprenticeships are a viable alternative to taking the traditional 4-year college route. These programs benefit not only the students, but also the employers, educational institutions, and communities. “With apprentices earning a good wage while getting great hands-on job experience and earning 48 credit hours or even an associate’s degree, they are well prepared to enter the job market upon completion of their apprenticeship, and they can easily continue their education, often getting their bachelor’s degree paid by their employer in the form of tuition reimbursement,” Feil explains.
